The Window Joint – efficient and damage-free Webinar at Wednasday 14th January 2026 5:00 to 7:00 p.m..

Training in the field of energy-efficient buildings is essential because new technologies, legal requirements, and funding programs are becoming increasingly complex. Especially in renovation projects, qualified further training enables professionals to identify energy-saving potential and to implement measures correctly and in a cost-effective manner.

This seminar is part of the training initiative “smartwin Webinars 2026: Efficiency That Pays Off.”

The webinar will be held in English. A German event will follow.

The initial installation of windows as well as window replacement as part of renovation works are among the more complex tasks in the planning and execution of the building envelope. Both the window itself and the connection details must be visually appealing, practically planned, and functionally windproof, airtight, as thermal-bridge-free as possible, and durable. The webinar informs planners and craftmen about the energy-related and building-physics interactions between envelope, window, and glazing, and describes all important aspects of window installation from theory to practice. The speaker, Franz Freundorfer, clearly explains the planning of the windproof and airtight layer, addresses its gaps and pitfalls, and provides an insight into the finite element method. Further aspects include window replacement in the refurbishment of existing buildings and the potential of serial renovation in the local workshop of the window manufacturer around the corner.
